About Hotel Skaftafell

The Hotel manager is Anna María Ragnarsdóttir

Anna Maria’s ancestors history in Skaftafell goes back for centuries and the family has a tradition of hosting and helping visitors traveling through the area . 

Her father, Ragnar Stefánsson, was one of few of his generation who had a vision for preserving Skaftafell for use as a national park.

Anna and her family run the hotel togeather and take pride and joy in providing a good and comfortable place for their guests as they explore the beautiful nature all around the hotel.

The hotel is in the south east of Iceland and Vík í Mýrdal is about 100 minutes drive west of the hotel and Höfn in Hornafjörður is similar distance to the east. Between these places are many of Icelands most beautiful location such as Skaftafell National Park, The Glacier Lagoon, The Diamond Beach, Fjallsar Lagoon, Ingolfshofdi and more.

The hotel is a perfect location to stay in for a few days and take tours exploring Iceland's magnificent nature.
